Janus Youth Programs has the following positions available. Janus is a nonprofit agency providing community-based services, including residential and shelter care, to youth referred by OYA and/or DHS, as well as homeless and street-dependent youth. We operate facilities in Oregon and in SW Washington. Services also include alternative education (Lents Education Center) and an Urban Agricultural program. We are an agency that values diversity and values the contributions made by our staff in helping the youth we serve. All positions involve working together with strong, supportive teams to support and make a difference in a young person's life.

Outreach Specialist needed to provide crisis intervention services and information and referrals. The purpose of this position is to engage and develop professional, trusting relationships with youth who traditionally do not access services and with entrenched street youth in order to transition them off the streets and into safe, stable housing and introduce them to employment or educational opportunities. The position involves both street-based and drop-in center services working directly with homeless and street-dependent youth. The position involves making contact with homeless and street dependent youth in a wide geographic area within the Vancouver metropolitan area and requires going where the youth are (under bridges, forested areas, abandoned buildings, and other areas where youth camp). Experience working with street youth and case management of youth is required. Beginning rate of pay is $12/hour plus excellent benefits. Livestock Project Coordinator at Village Gardens to work as part of a strong, supportive team serving the communities of St. Johns Woods, New Columbia and Tamaracks public housing. The Project Coordinator will promote resident leadership in all aspects of the planning and implementation of the project. This person will work with community members, other Village Gardens staff, professionals, volunteers, business partners, the Housing Authority of Portland, as well as product suppliers to create a successful livestock project. Experience with livestock management and operations, preferably with chickens, an understanding of adult and peer education and successful project management from start through implementation is strongly preferred. This position is part time, 10 hours/week and the wage is $10/hour. Relief Workers
